Living in the Real World - Learning, Language and Literacy In the Preschool program, I
do speech-language development and enrichment activities with all of the students in the
program and not just the students who have IEP goals and objectives in the area of speech
and language. The thematic units will be used to address receptive language skills, expressive
language skills, social language skills, language processing skills and speech skills (fluency
and articulation) in a more natural learning environment. The thematic units will facilitate
role play situations, provide conversation starters and enhance lunch bunch activities. The
thematic boxes can also extend the TEK and curriculum activities I support with my speech-language
impaired students. Lakeshore Theme Boxes and Library are the materials being purchased with the generous
grant donation.
