Carroll Education Foundation's Grant Recipients and Sponsors 2010

The Carroll Education Foundation has funded a grant entitled E-books: Reaching Every Classroom. This will allow the Old Union Elementary Library to purchase 204 E-book titles. E-books are interactive digital books that can be checked out, read, and enjoyed through a computer, Promethean board, or other portable device. All teachers and students will able to access the E-books in the classroom and library, and once the E-book is purchased, it becomes a part of the library collection forever. The E-books that will be purchased are digital versions of picture books, elementary chapter books, and nonfiction biography, science, and social studies titles. The digital format of the E-books will increase the students' desires to read, enhance research skills, and provide opportunities for teachers to use the interactive Promethean boards in the classroom.
