Carroll Education Foundation's Grant Recipients and Sponsors 2010

“Healthy Brains Make Healthy Bodies” is the grant we received and the materials will be very beneficial for my PE students at JES. We will do many hands-on activities to encourage students to make healthy choices. The models of the lungs and heart will allow students to not only see, but also feel how the cardio-vascular system works. The muscle and fat models will help encourage students to build more lean muscle as well as learn the effects of fat intake on the cardio-vascular system. The life size puzzle of the bones and muscles will aid in memorization skills. Nutrition is an important part of a healthy lifestyle and the use of the Nutrition Activity book will assist me in creating lessons to encourage healthy eating habits.
