Excellence in Education |
The Carroll Education Foundation (CEF) presented its 2007 scholarship recipients at the Student Awards ceremony at Carroll Senior High School on Wednesday Evening, May 23rd. Since its inception in 1996, CEF has distributed over $500,000 in teacher grants and student scholarships. The foundation is instrumental in providing funding for innovative teaching tools to enhance and enrich the educational learning experience for CISD students and teachers. CEF’s mission is to support excellence in education for the Carroll Independent School District. This year marks our 8th year of awarding scholarships to Carroll Senior High School graduating seniors who have demonstrated a commitment in academic achievement as well as community involvement. Ten students were honored who will each receive a $1,500.00 scholarship payable to the college or university of their choice. CEF Chairman , Kevin Clift said, “These ten students have continued to excel in the academic arena as well as making significant contributions as volunteers in their community... we’d like to see each student take their skills and make it count in the world….don’t let high school be the highlight of their life, but the launching point in their pursuit of excellence. We wish them the best in their future endeavors.”
